René Lalique, Worth "Dans la Nuit" Large Decanter / Perfume Bottle, France 1920s

€8,000.00

An icon of Art Deco design in its largest size by René Lalique for the legendary House of Worth. Dans la Nuit—“In the Night”—captures the poetry of the cosmos in sculpted glass.

Its deep cobalt-blue surface, luminous yet velvety, evokes the infinite and all embracing night sky. Across this twilight field drift translucent stars edging towards silver as light reflects upon the surface, scattered in quiet, asymmetrical constellations. The curvature of the decanter is slow and lunar, sensual yet perfectly disciplined. The stopper rises like a small orbital moon in suspension, holding a crescent and the model's name, completing the cosmic harmony.

Originally created to hold one of Worth’s most mysterious fragrances, this large-format decanter was destined for elite Parisian interiors. Today, it stands as a rare and highly collectible masterwork of 1920s luxury.

To hold it is to hold the horizon of night itself. Light sinks into its blue depths and re-emerges as quiet starlight. It is a fragment of the cosmos, sealed in glass.
