P. Letessier, Pink Carp Fish Vase, France Art Deco 1930

€4,450.00

An exceptional glazed ceramic vase by P. Letessier, a ceramicist who also collaborated with the silversmith René Meynial. The form is monumental in ambition — the handles are sculpted as carp fish in pink and red glazes, their scales and fins modelled with great care.

The combination of ceramic form and sculptural handle is a hallmark of the best French Art Deco ceramics, in which the boundary between vessel and sculpture was deliberately blurred. Signed P. Letessier, numbered 1011.

Dimensions in cm ( H x L x l ) : 24 x 28 x 19

Signed P. Letessier

Offered by RDS Gallery, Paris. Worldwide shipping with specialist packaging.
