Elegant vase by Christofle, with a low, flattened body and a long, narrow neck. The bronze is covered in a fine antique green patina with brownish highlights, which sets off gilt decoration of Oriental-inspired motifs.
The neck is adorned with vertical bands of stylised plant motifs, edged at the top with a zigzag frieze. On the shoulder, a frieze of scrolls forms the transition to the body, which is decorated all around with ruyi clouds and floral arabesques. The whole piece evokes a journey through the bronzes of the Far and Middle East, reinterpreted with the refinement of 1920s French decorative arts.
